When comparing Demon and Sage skills you should always try to look at 'big picture'- very often disadvantages of one skill are compensated by others. Read whole guide if you want to compare cultivations.

Important: This guide may seem bit biased. Post your comment if you think im wrong.

HEALS

Blessing of the Purehearted


Description:
1lvl - An Elven blessing that restores 35 HP plus 4% of your base magic attack.
10lvl - An Elven blessing that restores 665 HP plus 40% of your base magic attack.

Overview:
This heal should be used to recover large chunks of HP, if there is need to recover it fast. You use this heal on barbarians or other character with lot of HP.

BotP is one of most controversial spells and is considered by many clerics as useless. One of the reasons is its alleged long cast time. This agrument result from lack of experience in proper timing spells and should not be considered as valid. BotP compared to other instant heal: Wellspring Surge, heals more per second. Key to use it properly is good timing so your target wont be dead before you cast it ;)

BotP is not able to outheal Ironheart Blessing on 'max stack' (7 IHs) and should not be used in combos with it. Mix it to gain temporaty boost only if there is a need.

Another argument against BotP is fact that at late levels you will get much stronger Stream of Rejuvenation and only good reason to still use BotP would be desire to save some mana (BotP use less MP to heal 1 HP than WS and SoR).

Priority:
BotP is valid spell, but with limited usefulness and due to lack of spirit points on low levels many clerics decide to not level it.


Sage vs Demon:
11lvl heals more than 10lvl skill. There is no big difference between sage and demon though..

Ironheart Blessing


Description:
1lvl - Bless the target to restore 84 HP plus 3% of your base magic attack over 15 seconds.
10lvl - Bless the target to restore 714 HP plus 30% of your base magic attack over 15 seconds.

Overview:
Ironheart Blessing is 'Heal over Time' spell and recovers HP in 5 shots every 3s after cast. Although, it have fastest total cast time from all heals (2s) it still is slowest one in recovery (2s cast + 3s before 1st tick = 5s total). This spell should not be used when someone is taking rapid, big damage.

Despite that, IH will still be your favorite and main heal due to damage characteristics in PvE (repetitive low-mid hits with occasional nukes) and fact that IH regen can be 'stacked'. Best way to heal tank on boss is to just cast IHs all the time.

But you may want to combine spells to get more 'time space' between heals (to heal others, debuff, DD) and when damage in certain moment is so intense that tank will require fast HPS boost.

Before you try to combine heals you should know, that using any other spell than Stream of Rejuvenation on max. stacked IH (7 in a row) will lower HPS in long run (HPH), since BotP and WS have lower HPS rate than stacked IH.

Math:

Averange HPS recovery for 10 lvl skills and 5000 Base Magic Attack:

BotP - 666
single IH - 130
IH on max stack (>7 IH) - 1107
WS - 540
SoR without regen - 1065
SoR with regen (5 first SoRs) - 1206
SoR max stack - 1417


Averange HPS recovery for 10 lvl skills and 10000 Base Magic Attack:

BotP - 1166
single IH - 218
IH on max stack (>7 IH) - 1857
WS - 940
SoR without regen - 1780
SoR with regen (5 spells) - 1920
SoR max stack - 2131


More about stack: IH is HoT spell and it regens HP in 5 'ticks' (one per 3 seconds) . First tick after 3 seconds (5 seconds total counted from channeling start) and last after 15s (17s total). After 4th casted IH, those ticks dont have any more 'space' in time frame (where 1s is smalest unit) so they start to overlap on each other (without overwriting). Max possible overlap (after 7th IH) is: 3 ticks every odd second; 2 ticks every even second.

7 IHs working at same time is max what you can squize in 15s of HoT effect. If you will want to keep IH on max stack you wont be allowed to stop casting new IHs, because every 2s old one will wear off. Therefore, you should be aware that whole 'IH Max Stack' theory is bit abstract (game wont 'allow' you to do so too often) there is always something else to do than just spam IHs.


Priority:
Essential skill. You will max it asap. Biggest disadvantage is fact that it consumes much time to be stacked well.

Sage vs Demon:
-Both stronger than 10lvl.

- Sage is 10% stronger than Demon, gain is obvious.

- Demon IH with Demon Spirit Gift may seem stronger than single Sage IH, but you would need to use buff every 10s (which take 1.5s and isnt easy to remember during tough fight). Example:

S: (1200 + 10515 x 0.35) x 1.1 = 5368
D (with gift): (1200 + 12912 x 0.35) = 5719
D (without gift): (1200 + 10515 x 0.35) = 4880


Total HP healed in 46s:

S: 23 x 5368 = 123464 (if you stack, sage will recover more in long run)
D (with gift): 20 x 5719 = 114380
D (without gift): 23 x 4880 = 112245


- Demon clerics gain some love from tanks thanks to MP regen.

- If you solo - Demon IH mp cost is reduced to 100 per cast.

Wellspring Surge

Description:
1lvl - Rapidly heals the target with a surge of magic, restoring 80 HP plus 2% of your base magic attack.
10lvl - Rapidly heals the target with a surge of magic, restoring 350 HP plus 20% of your base magic attack.

Overview:
Fastest heal but with lowest HPS (if single IH not counted) which should be used when some AA or LA is taking sudden and rapid dmg. It's 2.5s total cast time usually allow you to heal enough fast between mob hits to keep your target alive.

WS should not be used on barbarians unless there is need to prevent charm tick or when you think that one second 'longer' SoR would be somehow too slow in certain situation.

WS + IH: Wellspring have bigger HPS than single Ironheart of course but similar to 4 stacked IHs which means that using it on stacked IH will decrease healing power. Though, it will increase rapidly -but temporary- HPS, which may be very useful sometimes (not enough time to just stack IH).


Priority:
Essential skill to keep yourself and other squishies alive. Can be upgraded bit slower than IH (5-6 lvl before 60's, max after). Though, you wont waste points if you decide to max it even faster.

Sage vs Demon:
- Both stronger than 10lvl.

- Sage is 0.3s faster than Demon.

- Demon offer minior chi bonus - compare to Sage SoR bonus.

Chromatic Healing Beam

Description:
1lvl - Heals squad members within 11 meters radius of you. Recovers HP equal to 530 plus 11% of your base magic attack.
10lvl - Heals squad members within 20 meters radius of you. Recovers HP equal to 1070 plus 20% of your base magic attack.

Overview:
Essential heal when there is AoE or more than 2 DDs are taking damage (timewise: 4.5s vs 2x 2.5 of WS). Though, with it's awfuly long cooldown you will need to switch to other heals to be able to keep DDs alive.

Less experienced clerics use CHB as 'panic heal' when party encounter few mobs. More experienced ones, who understand aggro mechanics better, will switch to other spells more often to heal directly only those squad members that 'took' aggro.


Priority:
Your only AoE heal aside from Regeneration Aura. Essential, but can be upgraded very slowly.

Sage vs Demon:
-Both stronger than 10lvl.

- Sage version extends area of effect by 5 meters, which often may be useful.

- Demon version recovers an extra 600 HP, which is 11-15% (for 13-7k BMA) stronger than Sage.

Stream of Rejuvenation


Description:
1lvl - Heal the target's HP, recovering 690 plus 23%of your base magic attack and an additional 690 HP over 15 seconds.
10lvl - Heal the target's HP, recovering 1230 plus 50% of your base magic attack and an additional 1230 HP over 15 seconds.

Overview:
Only one heal that will allow you to get higher HPS than max stacked IH. Difference between those two is that you need 17 seconds and constant spell-spam to get the effect with IH, and only 3.5s - with SoR. But I need to remind here that stacked IH provide regen every second, while SoR every 3.5s.

Priority:
Good skill on high levels. Use it on targets with high HP. Try to max it on 75lvl+

Sage vs Demon:
-Both stronger than 10lvl

-Sage version gains 30% extra Chi with each cast.

-Demon version temporarily grants the target an additional 100% bonus to equipment's physical defense. Which is nice, but usually tanks have lot of p.def already.

Regeneration Aura


Description:
Focus your empathetic energy to heal squad members within 15 meters of you. Use 500 Mana every 5 seconds to recover HP equal to 300 plus 20% of base magic attack every 5 seconds and cut all damage taken by 50%. Skill will not stop until click Cancel or press ESC.

Requires two Sparks.

Overview:
Essential skill for many AoE bosses, zhen (grinding on multiple mobs in party) or as 'panic heal' (limited by long channeling).

Priority:
Get it asap.

Vanguard Spirit

Description:
1lvl - Grant the target additional physical defense equal to 15% of their equipment value for 30 minutes.
10lvl - Grant the target additional physical defense equal to 60% of their equipment value for 30 minutes.

Overview:
Keep in mind that this skill boost your p.def by equipment value. You wont get your total physical resistance buffed by 60% (often 'just' additional + 9-10% to res. stat.) it is essential skill for you and any other party member.

Physical defence is very important for all squad members because most of dmg in game is physical type, f.e:

- melee attacks: most mobs and bosses deal it if you get into their melee range.

- ranged: arrows and stones.

- physical magic spells: mobs and bosses with AoEs which look like 'air-waves' or smoke.

Priority:
Level it quick.

Sage vs Demon:

- Sage gives p.def boost which ofc isnt 100% but much smaller (f.e. for person with 42% p.dmg res. boost to 54%; for 67% -> 76%; 80% -> 85% ). Still, this skill is useful in PvE since it dont aggro and PvP because it is fast (1.5s). Sage VS can save Arcane's life when it increase total p.res. even by 20-30%.

- Demon is somewhat compensation for Sages ability to gain chi every 60s. But it is not very useful.

Magic Shell


Description:
1lvl - Grants the target additional magic defense equal to 15% of their equipment value for 30 minutes.
10lvl - Grants the target additional magic defense equal to 60% of their equipment value for 30 minutes.

Overview:
Mag. defence is less important for you since you are Arcane, but you are also team player so you will max it.

Magic defence is very important for classes with low resistance (Heavy Armor especially) and because most bosses and monsters have higher magic attack than physical. If mob isnt pure magic caster, then he will use it usually as nukes (enough strong to be threat for cleric or wizzard).

Priority:
Level it quick.

Sage vs Demon:
- Is can be useful to cast Sage MS on other Arcanes that benefit much from channel reduction (f.e. wizzards).

- It would be pointless to use Sage on yourself if you healing/DD one target, since cast time would 'eat' whole channel bonus. Valid way would be casting it before you engage someone/something in combat or maybe when you deal with multiple targets.

- Demon: read Vanguard Spirit description.

Celestial Guardian's Seal


Description:
1lvl - Increase the target's HP and Mana regeneration by 1 per second for 30 minutes.
10lvl - Increase the target's HP and Mana regeneration by 10 per second for 30 minutes.

Overview:
Another controversial spell. It will help to save a bit on potions but on lower levels there are more important (squad wise) skills to upgrade. It can be maxed after 50 or 60 lvl; before that - it would be more dedicated to solo players.

Priority:
Level it slow.. It is not very useful and you have more important skills to learn.

Sage vs Demon:
- Sage heals 1200 HP in 15s which isnt really much at end game - but like all buffs it does not aggro.

- Demon version restores 900 MP over 15 seconds; you can imagine some rare situations where teammate would need a bit of mp to cast some skill (mana drain debuff or after death).

- Demon CGS can be used to reduce your mp costs, though it is not convenient for macro users since you need to cast it on yourself. Also, real mp gain is 365.

Spirit's Gift


Description:
1lvl - Increase the target's magic attack by 25% for 30 minutes.
10lvl - Increase the target's magic attack by 70% for 30 minutes.

Overview:
Essential skill that increase healing and DD power.

Note that buff on 10lvl does not increase Base Magic Attack by 70% but weapon magic attack bonus. For AA clerics this usually means 9-11% BMA more (~1/3 of 1st Spark Eruption boost).

BTW:

Demon Spirit Gift would be then additional ~23% total BMA boost.

1st Spark 30-35%
2nd Spark 60-70%
Sage/Demon Spark 100-120%

Those values in percentage wont be exactly same for every cleric since they depend on weapon (better weapon = better bonus) and mag stat (proportionaly: lower mag stat = higher bonus).

Priority:
Level it fast.

Sage vs Demon:
- Sage recover 305 mp (always to you). It is 'macro-friendly' but wont let you lend some mp to others.

- Demon boost your support and attack skills and makes all your heals and attacks stronger. Note that when you will heal or DD multiple targets (switching or with AoEs) boost from Demon SG will be most efficient. When you will heal/DD just one target, quite big part of magic attack bonus will be 'eaten' by re-buff cast time.

Heaven's Wrath


Description:
Focus all of your vigor to form a mystical array with a radius of 20 meters. Consuming 500 Mana every 5 seconds, increases the attack rate and channelling speed of squad members 20% and increases any weapon attack damage bonuses
by 100%. Skill will not stop until you click cancel or press ESC.

Requires one Spark.

Overview:
Nice buff to use in squad full of DDs. Unfortunately, it overwrite spark buff, so APS DDs will ask you to not use it.

Priority:
It is cheap enough to get it.

Revive


Description:
1lvl - Revive a squad member. Decreases experience loss from death by 0%. The target will come back with 10% HP and MP.
10lvl - Revive a squad member. Decreases experience loss from death by 90%. The target will come back with 10% HP and MP.

Overview:
Essential skill, though leveling it on lower levels isnt so urge anymore since gaining EXP in game became very easy. Bigger range can be helpful on bosses with AoE or in any other situation when you would prefer to be far from enemy.

Priority:
Up to you how fast you want to level it up.

Sage vs Demon:
-Both save 100% exp.

- Sage extended range (from 26,5 to 40m) becomes very handy in endgame instances where DDs often have to spread around bosses.

- Sage will make easier to revive people who died near wandering mobs.

- Both advantages apply to PvP as well.

- Demon shorter cast time (from 7 to 4s) will allow you to prevent party wipes more often (f.e. to rez tank quicker while DDs are being killed).

- Demon rez will be 'safer' to use on random aggro bosses, since you will be 'defenceless' for shorter period of time.

- Above examples will apply to PvP too.

Purify


Description:
Remove all negative effects on one friendly target.

Overview:
Essential skill which will remove all negative effects like bleed, poison, debuffs, movement seals or dmg ampifiers. Upgrading it will increase its range and lower cooldown greatly.

Priority:
For cleric who dont plan to AoE grind this skill can be left on low level for longer time (though bigger range helps on AoE bosses). Spell can be keept on <5lvl before 69lvl (5+ fb69 bosses), then slowly maxed till 80-85lvl.

For AoE grinders 5+ after 59lvl. Upgrading it will allow you to gather more poison mobs and make your grinding more efficient.

For PvP, espacially team or TW, Purify with lower cooldown may be crucial.


Sage vs Demon:
- spammable Sage Purify will be great help when you have to cure multiple targets or when you 'missed' some negative effect.

- Demon version does not require Chi.

Plume Shell


Description:
1lvl - Convert your Mana and Chi into a protective barrier that absorbs 53% of incoming physical damage for 20 seconds. Every point of damage absorbed consumes 2.0 Mana.
10lvl - Convert your Mana and Chi into a protective barrier that absorbs 80% of incoming physical damage for 20 seconds. Every point of damage absorbed consumes 1.1 Mana.

Overview:
One of best survival sills which temporary will make cleric very strong in resistance against physical damage. Its advantage is also long duration time and low cooldown (you can be under shield for 20s with 10s breaks) and low chi consumption.

Priority:
Usefull skill. Level it.

Sage vs Demon:
-Both: every point of damage absorbed consumes 1.0 Mana.

-Sage version absorbs 85% of incoming damage.

-Demon version only costs 15 Chi.

Sage vs Demon:
- Sage version always increases Metal magic damage by 25%.

- Demon version increases critical hit rate by 2%.

Overview:
Spamable, physical attack. Essential for PvE and PvP against arcanes with low p.def.

Priority:
Level it asap.

Sage vs Demon:
-Both are stronger than 10lvl.

-Sage version does an additional 800 damage.

-Demon version reduces the channel time to 1.2 seconds.

Great Cyclone


Description:
1lvl - Summon an immense cyclone around the enemy, inflicting metal damage equal to your base magic attack plus 55% of weapon damage plus 55.0. Has a 65% chance to reduce the enemy's movement speed by 40% for 5.3 seconds.
10lvl - Summon an immense cyclone around the enemy, inflicting metal damage equal to your base magic attack plus 100% of weapon damage plus 1372.6. Has a 92% chance to reduce the enemy's movement speed by 40% for 8.0 seconds.

Overview:
Essential skill for PvE and PvP against targets with low magic def. With maxed Metal Mastery is your best DPS skill.

Priority:
Level it asap.

Sage vs Demon:
-Both are stronger than 10lvl version.

-Sage version reduces the enemy's speed by 45% and increases the duration by 1 second.

-Demon version does an extra 600 damage.

Description:
1lvl - Create a sphere of lightning over the enemy's head, dealing metal damage equal to your base magic attack and causing the enemy to suffer an additional 781.9 metal damage over 15 seconds.
10lvl - Create a sphere of lightning over the enemy's head, dealing metal damage equal to your base magic attack and causing the enemy to suffer an additional 4419.7 metal damage over 15 seconds.

Overview:
Not very useful skill. Maybe against Psyshic with 99 defence lvl since DoT isnt reduced?

Priority:
You may leave it low till endgame.

Sage vs Demon:
-Both are stronger than 10lvl version.

-Sage version does an extra 15% metal damage.

-Demon version reduces the duration to 12 seconds.

-Sage version has a 50% chance to gain addional 30 Chi on a successful hit.

-Demon version reduces enemy's Metal resistance by 30% for 10 seconds.

Razor Feathers


Description:
1lvl - Draw power from your wings to fling dozens of magical quills at your target and all enemies within 4.4 meters. Inflicts physical damage equal to base magic attack plus 110% of weapon damage plus 527.5.

-Both stronger than 10lvl.

-Sage version increases the area by 2 meters.

-Demon version reduces the cooldown from 8 to 6 seconds.

Description:
1lvl - Conjure a magical storm that inflicts Metal damage equal to your base magic attack plus 1020.0 to all enemies within 12 meter. Has a chance to freeze enemies for 3 seconds.
10lvl - Conjure a magical storm that inflicts Metal damage equal to your base magic attack plus 3708.3 to all enemies within 12 meter. Has a chance to freeze enemies for 3 seconds.

Requires one Spark.

Overview:
Fast AoE skill. Sometimes can be used as seal, when other skills are on cooldown.

Priority:
Get Razor Feathers first.

Sage vs Demon:
-Both are stronger than 10lvl version.

-Sage version has a 25% chance to cast without consuming Spark.

-Demon version reduces cooldown time from 15 to 10 seconds.

Tempest


Description:
1lvl - Focus all of your energy to cast down countless thunder bolts at the target and enemies within a 8.4 meter radius around it, inflicting Metal damage equal to your base magic damage plus 220% of weapon damage plus 5343.8.
Has a 86% chance to cause a 6.2 second reduction in speed of 60%.
10lvl - Focus all of your energy to cast down countless thunder bolts at the target and enemies within a 12.0 meter radius around it, inflicting Metal damage equal to your base magic damage plus 400% of weapon damage plus 9337.1.
Has a 95% chance to cause a 8.0 second reduction in speed of 60%.

Requires two Sparks

Overview:
AoE nuke, strongest attack. Good for AoE grind and PvP.

Priority:
If you are not interested in mentioned above, then dont max before more important skills.

Sage vs Demon:
-Both are stronger than 10lvl version.

-Sage version has a 50% chance to cast with only one Spark consumed.

-Demon version has a 25% chance to freeze enemies for 8 seconds.

Description:
1lvl - Manipulate the magic in the air to form an Elemental Seal. Reduces your magic defense by 12% of equipment value to reduce the enemy's magic defense by 12% of equipment value. Lasts 11 seconds.
10lvl - Manipulate the magic in the air to form an Elemental Seal. Reduces your magic defense by 30% of equipment value to reduce the enemy's magic defense by 30% of equipment value. Lasts 20 seconds.

Overview:
Good for boss fights if there are many magic DDs, but pointless to use it if you solo. This type of debuff is quite rare.
Essential for PvP (keep in mind that you can purify yourself).

Priority:
Level it up if you plan to run dungeons often i.e. TT 60lvl+

Sage vs Demon:
-Both are stronger than 10lvl version.

-Sage version lasts 25 seconds. Which is nice if you purify yourself.

-Demon version only reduces your magic defense for 15 seconds.

Dimensional Seal


Description:
1lvl - Manipulate the magic in your armor to form a Dimensional Seal. Reduces your own physical defense by 12% of equipment value to reduce the enemy's physical defense by 12% of equipment value. Lasts 11 seconds.
10lvl - Manipulate the magic in your armor to form a Dimensional Seal. Reduces your own physical defense by 30% of equipment value to reduce the enemy's physical defense by 30% of equipment value. Lasts 20 seconds.

Overview:
Good for boss fights if there are many physical DDs, but pointless to use it if you solo. Unfortunately, this type of debuff is quite common - it will be overwriten by skill with same icon.
Essential for PvP (keep in mind that you can purify yourself).

Priority:
Level it up if you plan to run dungeons often i.e. TT 60lvl+. This skill can be leveled slower because other squad members may have similar or better skills (veno and barb).

Sage vs Demon:
-Both are stronger than 10lvl version.

-Sage version lasts 25 seconds. Which is nice if you purify yourself.

-Demon version only reduces your magic defense for 15 seconds.

Silent Seal


Description:
1lvl - Manipulate your energy to form the Seal of Silence. Suffer a 2.4 second attack damage by reduction of 50% to paralyze an enemy for up to 6.0 seconds.
10lvl - Manipulate your energy to form the Seal of Silence. Suffer a 6.0 second attack damage by reduction of 50% to paralyze an enemy for up to 16.8 seconds.

Overview:
Paralyze effect makes your enemy unable to move but he can still attack. Good for PvP against melee enemy. BTW your dmg is reduced by 50% of equipment value.

Priority:
Level it up if you plan to PvP. If not then leave it for endgame

Sage vs Demon:
-Both are stronger than 10lvl version.

-Sage version extends freeze effect by 2 seconds.

-Demon version does not reduce your attack damage.

Chromatic Seal


Description:
1lvl - Manipulate your inner-energy to form the Seal of Colors. Suffer a 5 second reduction in speed of 40% to put the enemy to sleep for up to 12.0 seconds.
10lvl - Manipulate your inner-energy to form the Seal of Colors. Suffer a 14 second reduction in speed of 40% to put the enemy to sleep for up to 33.6 seconds.

Overview:
Great skill; sealed target can't move or do anything. Skill wont break until you hit mob/player or time expire. Can save you from aggroed mob often. Essential for PvP: sleep effect will last long enough to let you debuff enemy, spark and use nuke spell.

Priority:
Usefull skill. Level it when you want.

Sage vs Demon:
-Both are stronger than 10lvl version.

-Sage version extends the sleep duration by 4 seconds.

-Demon version causes no reduction to speed.

Guardian Light


Description:
During battle, the Cleric is always one of the most vulnerable allies, yet without a Cleric, a squad will have to face daunting foes without their restoration expertise. Top Clerics started to work on improving Cleric skills to enhance the capabilities of this class. This newly-developed skill acts to help defend them in combat. Receive 60% less
damage. Movement speed increased by 30%. Lasts 10 seconds.

Requires one Spark

Overview:
Good skill which can save you on PvE and PvP. Unfortunately, it has very long cooldown (5 mins). Get other 79lvl skill first.

Wings of Protection


Description:
Clerics are masters at protecting others from harm. Cast a shield on a target to absorb a portion of their incoming damage until that amount equals 20% of the target's maximum HP. The shield disappears after 30 seconds, or when it has reached its capacity.

Overview:
This skill dont aggro which makes it great, when you want to save someone from mob or boss. Long cooldown (3 min) is it's disadvantage.

Elven Boon


Description:
Deals base magic attack to the target plus 100% of weapon magic damage,
plus and additional 1111 Metal damage. Has a 15 % chance to seal the target for 2
seconds, and has a 50% chance to recover caster' HP by 500.

Overview:
Not very strong spell. Useful if you want to make chain of magic attacks. Cost is it's big disadvantage.

Seal of the God


Description:
With divine aid, this skill fully seals target for a long time, and simultaneously freezes it. However, the mighty power causes less damage. Among the Winged Elves society there have been countless discussions about this skill and none have denied its usefulness. Seals and freezes target, making it receive 90% less damage. Lasts 15 seconds. Effective only on hostile targets.

Requires one Spark

Overview:
Can be helpful in PvE if better support skills are on cooldown. Same rule apply to PvP. SEal can't be purifed/purged. Pre-emptive skills like anti-stun and Will Surge work, but reactive skills such as Purify or Purge don't.
